What is the Better Health Library?

The Better Health Library is a web-based resource that allows licensed health care professionals to create their own evidence-based patient education web site.

What need does the Better Health Library serve?

The Better Health Library offers health care providers the opportunity to partner more effectively with patients by providing individualized, evidence-based educational web sites that are maintained and updated by a credible and reliable source.

How is Better Health Library educational content developed?

The Foundation for Better Health Care, a continuing medical education (CME) provider with a 6-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, adapts current CME content into Better Health Library patient education modules. Each module and update is reviewed by independent medical experts before publication. This ensures that patient educational content is aligned with the most current evidence and clinical standards of care. References and additional resources that meet FBHC’s evidence standards are included in each module.

Do Better Health Library Sites Contain Commercial Advertising?

No. Sites created for health care professionals do not and will not contain advertising.

How much does the Better Health Library cost?

Health care providers are able to establish and maintain a site free of charge for at least two years as Better Health Library beta test participants.

How are Better Health Library sites supported?

Patients who access Better Health Library sites may elect to receive a weekly electronic news letter from the Foundation for Better Health Care or one of its industry partners (Women’s Healthcare Forum). The newsletter may contain commercial advertising. This news letter will not be associated in any way with the patient’s health care provider.

The Foundation for Better Health Care (Women’s Healthcare Forum) may also receive financial support to help cover the cost of health care provider sites. These supporters may be made known to health care providers but will not be advertised on providers’ Better Health Library sites.
